One of my latest interests.
I've been looking into Internet rabbit holes as of recently, especially since I really like seeing disturbing media and seeing how the Internet interacts with it. I watch a lot YouTube videos that explains them and says if they're still up or not, and honestly I may try to find something new myself. But it's a bit chaotic, and I may just start with rabbit holes and weird websites that were already found. Mainly to see if I can see them for myself, and maybe even talk about them in future blogs!
One of the websites I find the most interesting is Rent A Hitman, purely because of its origin and what it was ORIGINALLY made for. Since it was created with clear satirical matters, yet there were some people who actually tried to rent an actual hitman against their own peers. I'm just glad the Creator isn't afraid to forward the legitimate requests to law enforcement, instead of just sweeping them under the rug since that could lead to the original requester to move to another website that may actually grant their request to end the lives of the targeted individuals.
I also sometimes look at solved internet mysteries to see how the Internet works together to find out just what hides under the surface, even if the answers are anticlimactic and not what people expected. This may seem like a bit of a strange thing to enjoy, but to me, it's nice seeing the Internet work together to answer questions instead of being against each other. It's definitely refreshing to me, as someone who is often stuck in the middle of Internet drama. Especially since I have a friend who has had false allegations against them, whom I'm not naming for VERY OBVIOUS REASONS!!
However, I do end up seeing extremely disturbing and very distressing media while looking into these strange urls and imagery. Oftentimes it's gore, crime, or things related to cults. I also sometimes discover people plotting harm against others for no reason other than their own sadistic entertainment, and a notable one is when a bunch of sick people on 4chan hacked into an epilepsy support group and spamming it with flashing lights and many other things that trigger seizures, laughing at the pain they caused. When I read about that situation, I was pissed off by it's cruelty. The initial situation was a long time ago, but I heard about the situation via a YouTube video and it made me question why people choose to do horrible things like this. It just doesn't make sense to me, it never has.
But at the end of the day, these are just Internet rabbit holes I look at. If I see anything interesting, or find anything myself, I'll be sure to write a post about it for you guys to see. And maybe I'll even go onto other social media to see if anyone else knows about it, and maybe I can connect with other people who enjoy seeing these topics too!
