We need new regulations for presidents

 You read that title right, I believe we need some new regulations and requirements to run this damn country. Now obviously, I'm not an expert, so I know some of these may be unrealistic, but this is just my opinion.

Understanding my thoughts:

Ok, so allow me to explain my ideas and why I think this way. The first one is that I believe we need an age limit on how old someone can be before they run for president, probably about 62 at the highest some the minimum age is 35 according to USA.gov The reason I feel this way is because according to the article  "Study reveals critical age when your thinking begins to decline" from science alert, the age when deterioration starts is on average around 44 years old. However, it's at age 67 when the brain deterioration begins to hit it's most rapid rate, and at about 90 years old it starts to level off. Now for the most part a lot of our presidents were definitely below the age of 65, however there are also ones who are 68-78. And I'm not naming any specific political parties since I really don't believe this is a partisan issue, I just don't think it's a good idea for a president to be going through a natural mental decline while running the country. Especially since diseases such as dementia and Alzheimer's can start showing up at age 65, and so far we sadly do not have a cure for this. This one may be a tad bit unrealistic since I have heard of these issues happening at younger ages, not to mention there are other mental illnesses that we should worry about. Which brings me to me second opinion, I feel like there should be SOME KIND of mental evaluation the candidate has to do in order to be eligible. This one ties into my previous points, especially since we have had presidents with various health issues like depression, polio, cognitive decline, etc. And it wouldn't be surprising to me if there were some issues that weren't diagnosed at the time, especially in years such as 1950-1900. Now I can't find many reliable sources that back this point up, but doing on and off research to find out more of this topic and I will update this post regularly and add them in!!


In conclusion, I believe we lack a lot of regulations for presidential candidates. Especially considering how complex the human mind can be, and how easy it is to put on a mask and pretend to be one thing in order to lure people in like a trap. I feel like with more regulations, we would have less world issues like we do now.

My thoughts on age verification.

  I get it, people don't want people under the age of 18 to access things not meant for them. But I do find a few flaws in how most age verification works, especially when it comes to privacy.  For those who may not know, we have a rise in age verification softwares that require you to take a photo of your face and government issued identification. However, this may raise concerns of privacy. Especially since they most likely keep this information in a database, which can be hacked and leaked if the database isn't fully secured. Not to mention, I don't doubt that there will be a rise in false identification crimes and/or identity theft crimes because of this. I do believe the idea in and of itself isn't bad, especially for pornography websites or sites that allow sexual imagery and topics in their programs.
